MINIGUIDE: Discover beautiful Ulrika
– Culture, history, adventure & nature
Fish, hike and discover strikingly beautiful countryside and tranquillity in charming Ulrika! In the village of red cottages with white trim there is a great deal of Swedish history to discover, and a stone’s throw away, the children have their paradise at the adventure farm, Äventyrsgården.
Ulrika Church
In the heart of Ulrika stands Ulrika Church, which by the gracious permission of Queen Ulrika Eleonora was completed in 1737 and was later extended in 1797. The church is most often open during daytime for visiting, devotions and meditation. The church organ is from 1734 and as such is older than Ulrika Church. The organ was built by world renowned Johan Niclas Chaman, who was one of the foremost organ builders of the 1700s, and there are only three similar playable organs in the country.

Ulrika museum
In Ulrika local museum there are several museum exhibits and stories collected from Ulrika parish, which describe how it was to live self-sufficiently in Sweden. In addition to the permanent exhibits, every year there is a specially themed exhibition. In the museum shop the museum yearbooks, postcards and local crafts are sold.

Ulrika Shop and Café
The shop is a great place to start your trip. In the shop you can fill up your picnic basket and go off on a hike in the local area. The shop is also an InfoPoint and provides basic tourist information for the visitor.

Amundebo Södergård
With a beautiful outlook over the lake lies Amundebo Södergårds charming and peaceful campsite and cabins for those of you who want to experience nature at close quarters. There are hiking trails, fishing opportunities and lovely excursions nearby. At the campsite there is a child-friendly swimming spot. The Ice-cream café is open in the summer. Ulrika is about a 500 meter walk away.
At Amundebo Södergård there are also activities for those who want to organise a conference, kick-off, hen or stag party, school camp or quite simply have a fun and exciting day together with your friends.

Äventyrsgården
If you follow the Troll Forest Path right next to Amundebo Södergård you will come to Äventyrsgården adventure farm, a real oasis for those of you full of animation and energy. Here you will find bouncy castles, climbing castle, pedal car land and much more. You can also befriend animals such as hens, goats and rabbits, or take a tour around on Grållen, a tractor with wagon which drives in a loop through the forest and surroundings.

Ycke Primeval Forest
Very close by you will find a real troll forest and fantastic nature experience! A primeval forest has never been disturbed by mankind, which means that the trees are very old. Here you will find trees that have grown for over 270 years and were small plants at the time King Karl XII reigned. Through Ycke is a walking path where you can let yourself be enchanted by the mystical forest.

Trollegater Nature Reserve
About 13 km from Ulrika lies Trollegater which is one of Sweden’s largest underground caves with a passage system of appr. 100 meters. According to the locals there were trolls living in the caves, and the cracks in the rocks were their pathways. Bring a helmet and torch so that you can look for trolls who possibly still live there, and at the same time wonder over the power of nature!
