Secure your business environmentally
In the Sustainable Tourism project, Visit Linköping & Co has developed 17 Environmental Criteria with the aim of highlighting and showcasing businesses in Linköping’s tourism industry that operate environmentally sustainably.
The goal of the environmental criteria is to highlight role models/ambassadors in Linköping’s tourism industry that operate in an environmentally sustainable way and to emphasize these to inspire other actors to develop in the same direction and create opportunities to share knowledge and experiences.
The environmental criteria are developed with inspiration from GSTC’s criteria for sustainable tourism and various certifications such as Svanen and Green Key. The criteria are also linked to the 17 goals in Agenda 2030 as well as GSTC’s criteria to ensure that if the environmental criteria are met, they contribute to achieving the global goals for sustainable development. Read more about GSTC here.
To become an environmentally secured business, the business submits an application, then a visit is made to the business where we together go through the criteria and how the business meets them. Based on the application and visit, an assessment is made of the number of criteria the business meets and receives the Environmental Secured business label (meets at least 10 criteria) or Environmental Ambassador (meets at least 14 criteria). Businesses that have a dining service need to meet 1 additional criterion.
