Secure your business environmentally
Within the Sustainable Tourism project, Visit Linköping & Co has developed 17 Environmental Criteria with the aim of highlighting and showcasing businesses within Linköping’s tourism industry that operate in an environmentally sustainable way.
The goal of the environmental criteria is to spotlight role models/ambassadors within Linköping’s tourism industry who work environmentally sustainably and emphasize these to inspire other actors to develop in the same direction and create opportunities to share knowledge and experiences.
The environmental criteria are developed with inspiration from GSTC’s criteria for sustainable tourism as well as various certifications such as the Swan and Green Key. The criteria have also been linked to the 17 goals in Agenda 2030 and GSTC’s criteria to ensure that if the environmental criteria are met, they contribute to achieving the global goals for sustainable development. Read more about GSTC here.
To become an environmentally certified business, the business submits an application, and then a visit to the business is made where we together review the criteria and how the business meets them. Based on the application and visit, an assessment is made of the number of criteria the business meets, and based on that, the designation Environmentally Certified Business (meets at least 10 criteria) or Environmental Ambassador (meets at least 14 criteria) is awarded. Businesses that have a food service need to achieve 1 extra criterion.
