From here you can follow the Göta Canal towards Borensberg – a 21-kilometer long, family-friendly, and almost car-free stretch with nature, culture, and charming stops. Lock stairs, monasteries, sheep pastures, ice cream kiosks, and several accommodation options are available along the route. A stone’s throw from the trail is Cloetta’s chocolate factory and Brunneby Musteri – both well worth a flavorful stop. This is truly a cycling experience that suits both the big and small.

Cycle by yourself, with family, or friends – and if you book bikes for several days, there’s even more to discover. From Berg’s locks, you can also cycle into Linköping and take part in everything the city’s center has to offer. Then you follow the Göta Canal’s national cycle route south, and can choose to cycle all the way to Mem – where the Göta Canal begins. Or to turn off in Linköping city and perhaps explore southern Linköping’s municipality along the Kinda Canal on your own.

On the day you booked, the bikes are picked up at Visit Linköping’s InfoPoint by Berg’s locks – or at Kaffeteriet in Borensberg. The rental is done in cooperation between Kaffeteriet and Visit Linköping. You can return the bike at both Berg’s locks and Borensberg – regardless of where you book it.

Facts about the bikes

3-speed ladies’ bikes equipped with reflectors, bike basket, foot and hand brakes, as well as carriers. If you use the bike in the dark, you must bring your own lighting.

Bicycle helmets, child seats, and panniers are available as accessories.
