Information at the organizer

“There is something seriously damn wrong with you.” Ingrid and Tom have not been in contact for several years. Tom has turned his back on her, feeling as if she has been ashamed of him. A shame that he has had to carry.

Ingrid’s daughter Johanna persuades Ingrid to go to therapy. She is reluctant but ends up in a group of parents who, for various reasons, have lost contact with their adult children. And for the first time, she dares to open up a little. Then Tom’s teenage daughter appears. She is the result of an affair in Budapest and has only had sporadic contact with her father during her upbringing. Now she is moving in with him and Nina and their young son. Old wounds are reopened, Nina questions Tom’s loyalties and suddenly everything in Tom’s life is turned upside down. Then Ingrid is there for Tom. But does he dare to approach her again for help?

In 1999, the third standalone installment in Helena von Zweigbergk’s novel series Dreams of Freedom, we once again meet Ingrid, Tom, and Johanna at a time when a new millennium is approaching and all three are trying to reconnect as adult individuals.

The program is conducted by the non-profit association Bokstödet, which is a friend association of Linköping’s bookstore.
