On March 14th, Folkparken Produktion invites you to this year’s theatrical experience. It is Västanå Teater from Sunne presenting an exciting performance about morality and human destinies.
The calm, harmonious, and mythical Lövdala – here many of Selma Lagerlöf’s stories take place. The model is Selma’s own childhood home Mårbacka.
In Tiggarfolk & Herrskap, you will encounter stories from several of Selma’s works that revolve around Lövdala. Many questions about how life should be lived are posed based on the works. What is the right path for the cavalier who is torn between extremes – the allure of the free life with adventures, extravagance, and passion or the home and family life where calm, patience, and moral firmness prevail? Lieutenant Beurencreutz learns that he only has one day left in life before death comes to take him away. What are the right choices to fill the last day with?
What is true goodness when the beggar folk come to the estate and ask the gentry for help – is it the alms to satiate hunger or the respect and understanding of the other’s life?
