One of Sweden’s most dedicated blues voices visits Charles Emils when Anders Landelius – alias Slidin’ Slim – takes the audience on a journey straight into the heart of the blues.

Slidin’ Slim belongs to a small, exclusive group of blues musicians who, year after year, travel across the country and realm and – regardless of trends – play their blues, often with only the guitar as company. In his expression, Slim (as most call him) draws inspiration from the delta blues masters such as Son House, Big Joe Williams, and Robert Johnson, but also from contemporary performers like John Hammond.

During his over 30 years as a musician, he has repeatedly played at all of Sweden’s blues festivals and clubs, and toured in virtually all of Europe and the USA. Fine reviews for both records and live performances have been more the rule than the exception throughout his career – including top ratings in Expressen for his electric blues project Dead Soul, as well as acclaim in countless blues magazines worldwide.

Slidin’ Slim has also been honored for his efforts over the years, including with the Åmål Bluesfest Award, Janne Rosenqvist’s Memorial Award, and The Great Jazz Club’s Blues Scholarship.

Although Slim is primarily known as a solo artist, he has over the years collaborated with a number of musicians, including Jimmy Z (Etta James, Rod Stewart, etc.), Eric Hansson (Eric’s Bluesband), Big Fred, and Christer Ring.
