Elevator

Elevator is a play about alienation, peer pressure, grief, and demonic revenge.

The drama follows a number of friends who go to a cabin on an isolated island in the Stockholm archipelago to celebrate their graduation. The atmosphere completely changes when the group’s leader, Lo, reveals a surprise she has prepared. She has obtained an ancient recipe for a drink said to create a direct connection between the living and the dead. None of the youths would have continued this dangerous game at this stage if they had had any idea of its horrific consequences. A play for 6–8 actors.

Julia Ahndoril is a 23-year-old newly graduated playwright from Stockholms konstnärliga högskola. She enjoys challenging the boundaries of realism in her plays by pushing the plot so far that it implodes and opens up to alternative realities. Her themes often revolve around love, violence, and sexuality. In her youth, Julia herself acted in a theater group at a cultural school that participated in Länk.
