Game Over – A Comedic Grief Work

Marie Göranzon and Krister Henriksson are two of Sweden’s greatest giants in acting and have given us a string of great performances over the past decades, both separately and together. Their collaboration has been witnessed several times before, most recently in Dramaten’s “Fröken Julie” 2023. In the spring of 2026, they finally met on stage again in the brand new play “Finished Playing – A Comic Mourning Work,” written and directed by Henrik Schyffert. The performance has been received with open arms by both the audience and critics alike. “Göranzon and Henriksson are true thoroughbreds” and “funny, drastic, and not a little cheeky,” writes Expressen, while Svenska Dagbladet states “Two different giants electrify the stage.” After 36 sold-out performances at Scalateatern in Stockholm, they are now taking the successful show on a Sweden tour! On September 19, Finished Playing comes to Linköping Concert & Congress!

Three of Sweden’s most prominent cultural profiles come together in the unique theater project “Finished Playing – A Comic Mourning Work.” Marie Göranzon and Krister Henriksson are two of our most experienced and oldest voices in Swedish performing arts. They have roots deeply planted in Dramaten’s salons but with twigs and branches in both film, TV, and the hearts of the people. In “Finished Playing – A Comic Mourning Work,” the two friends meet on stage in a completely new and personal play by Henrik Schyffert, which deals with life, theater, and relationships. With humor and seriousness, the two friends dissect how their lives have actually been, on and around the stage. When have you actually finished playing?

– In this performance, we talk about things and events we’ve never raised before, there is something very liberating in that, says Marie Göranzon.

In the performance, we get to join when Marie and Krister wait in a dressing room to promote the play “Finished Playing” in a popular TV program. The audience follows the conversation and witnesses the personal meeting between the two actors. In the dressing room, they are also joined by the young production assistant Rasmus, played by Nonni Ardal, praised for his spot-on presence. The production assistant’s unaware approach to the weight of the two icons becomes the starting point for a series of misunderstandings and stumbling transgressions.

During the fall of 2026, Henriksson, Göranzon, and Ardal hit the roads and meet the audience with the successful show “Finished Playing” in seven new cities with twelve new dates. Among others, the locations of Gothenburg, Västerås, and Linköping are visited.

– I am a country person. I think the country deserves the very best. It probably never gets better than this, says Krister Henriksson.
