This concert is the conclusion of the Swedish Horn Society’s horn festival. In addition to horn legend Radovan Vlatković, a number of hornists from the Horn Society will perform.

Radovan Vlatković has been employed in several significant orchestras but now dedicates himself to a solo career and has recorded many of the major works for horn. He is now a professor of horn at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Reina Sofia School of Music in Madrid. Vlatković also participates as a senior artist at the Marlboro Music Festival. As a soloist, he has traveled around the world. For EMI Classics, he has recorded all the horn concertos by W.A. Mozart and Richard Strauss with the English Chamber Orchestra under Jeffrey Tate. His recording of the Mozart concertos was awarded the German Record Critics’ Prize.

Ida Mo Schanche, born in Stavanger, began playing piano with her mother at the age of 2–3. After high school, Ida was admitted to the Music Conservatory where she received training from Milena Dratova. She then studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Håvard Grimse as her teacher. After completing her studies in accompaniment, she immediately got a job as an orchestra pianist in the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra in 2003, a position she has held for 22 years. Ida is a versatile musician and particularly active as a chamber musician and accompanist both in Norway and abroad, including at the Blekinge International Brass Academy, where she has participated for the past 24 years. She has also been involved in a number of recordings, including “Fingerprints” with the Swedish trumpeter Urban Agnas.

The concert duration is approximately 2 hours including intermission.
