It’s the same donkey, just with a new saddle

A comedy show by and with Anders “Ankan” Johansson! In 2022, Anders “Ankan” Johansson achieved great success with his solo debut “Alla känner Ankan”. It was sold out for a year and a half, Borås Tidning described it as “the best stand-up show of the year” and Barometern hailed Ankan as “one of the most beloved we have”. In the fall of 2025, Ankan returns to the stage with a newly written comedy show.

The new show has been given the somewhat unusual title “It’s the same donkey, just with a new saddle – A comedy show by and with Anders ‘Ankan’ Johansson” and is a comedic production about us never learning. Ankan thought we agreed that it is good to tell the truth, help each other, and be nice, but apparently not. The jokers and mistakes return.

With over 20 years in the humor and media industry, Anders “Ankan” Johansson has become one of Sweden’s most beloved comedians, among other things as one half of the popular comedy duo Anders & Måns. In 2020, Ankan was named Male Comedian of the Year at the “Swedish Humor Awards” and earlier this fall, he won the TV award Kristallen for his somewhat different travel program “Rostiga roadtrips”, which he made for SVT together with Valle Westesson. During the fall, we could also see him sail “Across the Atlantic” on Kanal 5.

In “It’s the same donkey, just with a new saddle – A comedy show by and with Anders ‘Ankan’ Johansson”, Ankan wants to take the audience on a new journey:

“It’s the same donkey, just with a new saddle – is an Afghan proverb said about people who have gained a higher position than they deserve.

There are many things that make me happy, many that make me wonder, and quite a few that make me angry. You become gradually surprised. Weren’t we agreed that it is good to tell the truth, help each other, and be nice? Apparently, we never learn, idiocy, jokers, and mistakes return. Who is rewarded and who is not? Old opinions, ancient mistakes, the same old guys, new costume. I want to joke about this.

This will be my second solo show. I am the same donkey – just with a new saddle.
I hope you want to come.”
