In a darkened stage space, a large pendulum swings in even rhythm, as if measuring time itself. In interaction with its movement, choreographer and dancer Erik Eriksson enters a world where his body moves between acceleration and deceleration, light and shadow.

In his hand, he carries a sledgehammer – a tool whose history and weight shape the dance’s dynamic and movement. Beneath him – thin streaks of light, around him – the sound of delicate piano notes, as if someone were gently trying to console the very weight.

The sledgehammer becomes his dance partner, enabling the flow of the dance between weight and weightlessness. In the constant play between yielding and counterweight, time pulses – not as seconds, but as a bodily rhythm. Between balance and fall, strength and exhaustion, a friction arises where the physically demanding is set against the fragile, where each impact is supported by a floating resonance.

Knoster reminds of another kind of temporality – one that resonates in every step, every piano stroke, every returning movement.
