Schubert wrote nine symphonies but never got to hear them performed. The Great C major Symphony had its first performance ten years after Schubert’s death. It was Robert Schumann who got hold of the score during a visit to Vienna in 1838 and Schumann’s friend Felix Mendelssohn who conducted the premiere in Leipzig in 1839. Today it is not so easy to understand that the musicians of the time found the symphony too difficult to play and intricate, but with today’s ears, we can just sit back and enjoy all the beauty contained in this magnificent work.

The bag ban no longer applies to Konsert & Kongress, Saab Arena, and Stångebrofältet.
However, we recommend bringing a smaller bag – preferably no larger than 40 x 40 x 20 cm – to facilitate entry and storage. Bags may be searched at the entrance.

Linköping Konsert & Kongress is centrally located in Linköping, a short walk from the Travel Center. You can easily and environmentally friendly get here by bus or commuter train, see www.ostgotatrafiken.se www.ostgotatrafiken.se for schedules. From many parts of the city, it is also within walking distance to us. If you have a car, there are a few parking spaces outside the main entrance and larger parking lots at Katedralskolan and P-hus Baggen.
