Vånna Inget – Duo

A canceled 40th birthday party became the starting point for something completely new. When Karolina Engdahl and Tommy Tift with their dark wave project True Moon were going to surprise their friend with electronic interpretations of their now-defunct Vånna Inget, illness put a stop. But the idea managed to ignite a spark:

”We were going to play with True Moon at a friend’s 40th birthday party. We thought of surprising with some electronic interpretations of Vånna songs since our friend has seen about 40 gigs with Vånna Inget over the years. However, illness put a stop. But we have made a number of electronic versions of songs we rarely – or never – played live with Vånna Inget.

NB! This is not the “Covid-19 edition” of Vånna Inget duo. We are aiming for a completely different energy. It will be a wonderful mix of all the songs you are used to hearing us play and songs we have never played live. And everything in between…. Hope to see you! /Karolina & Tommy.”

Vånna Inget was a Swedish punk group consisting of Karolina Engdahl (vocals), Tommy Tift (guitar), Christine Owman (bass, vocals, cello), Andréas Almqvist (drums), and Joel Nevrup (organ, synth). The band was based in Malmö but with roots in Småland.

The debut album “Allvar” was released in 2011, and in 2013 “Ingen Botten” arrived, which earned the band a Grammy nomination for “Rock of the Year”. In 2019, they released the album “Utopi” and in 2023 came their last record “True Romance” before the band disbanded for good.

The last concert was held in 2023 after an extensive farewell tour, but you now have the opportunity to experience them again – in a completely new guise.
