Environment
At Linköping Konsert & Kongress, we work purposefully to minimize our environmental impact and strive to continuously develop and improve our routines to continue being a leading and responsible player in society. Here you can read about some of the areas we actively work on to reduce our environmental impact.
Renewable energy
All the electricity we use comes from 100% renewable energy sources. We are well on our way to replacing all our lighting with LED lamps and have routines to limit energy use in empty premises with the help of presence-controlled lighting. In addition, we have solar panels that provide us with fossil-free electricity.
Sustainable furnishings and digital solutions
Our ambition is to furnish and renew with a focus on sustainability. We reuse furnishings where possible, and if we need new furniture, we choose products made of recycled materials. To reduce paper use, we use digital tools and systems in our daily operations. We have introduced digital signage in the building, which not only reduces paper consumption but also makes communication smoother.
Water-saving measures
We work with various water-saving measures through water-efficient solutions. Our taps and toilets are adapted to use a maximum of 8 liters per minute, and we are continuously working to reach the target of 5 liters per minute. We also conduct regular checks of dripping taps and running toilets to reduce water usage.
Environmental thinking in cleaning
We only use environmentally labeled cleaning chemicals in our operations – from cleaning products and detergents to dishwashing liquid and hygiene paper. Disinfectants are used only when absolutely necessary, to minimize the impact on the environment. We utilize a laundry service that meets strict environmental requirements and is within 100 kilometers of the facility to minimize transport emissions.
Waste management and reduced food waste
We sort all waste at the source and have routines to measure food waste and set targets to reduce it. In our food service, we avoid disposable items, which helps reduce the amount of waste and our plastic usage.
