Travelling to Linköping
You’ll be here soon – we can’t wait! There are many ways to get to our lovely city, whether you prefer public transportation or driving yourself, you are warmly welcome to Linköping.
Linköping is strategically situated next to the E4 highway as well as the main railway between Malmö and Stockholm. Linköpings resecentrum (bus-and train station) is located almost in the heart of Linköping near hotels, restaurants and shopping.
By Bus
It´s often both more convenient, inexpensive and environment friendly travelling by intercity bus.
The intercity bus terminal in Linköping is called Fjärrbussterminalen and is only a couple of minutes walk away from the bus- and train station, Linköpings resecentrum.

By train
Take the train to Linköping! Linköping is a stop along the main railway line between Stockholm and Malmö and trains are frequent.
You can travel to Linköping using various transportation options such as SJ, Mälartåg, Snälltåget, and Kustpilen. Once in Linköping, getting around is convenient with Östgötatrafiken’s buses and commuter trains
By car
It’s easy to get to Linköping by car. The major roads leading here are E4, 34 and 35.

Avfart 111, avfart 112 och avfart 113 - Road 34
Road 34 connects Vimmerby or Kisa in the south with Motala and Borensberg in the north. Road 34 passes west Linköping, where Linköping university and the Mjärdevi industrial area are located. Also the Swedish Air Force Museum (Flygvapenmuseum) is located on this side of town. - Road 35
Driving northwards from Åtvidaberg, this road takes you to the eastern parts of Linköping, where the Motor Stadium, Saab and the airport are situated.
By boat
There are two magnificent canals in the Linköping area, enabling you to go in your own boat all the way to the city center during the summer season!
From Berg to the center of Linköping: Head down the impressive staircase locks Bergs slussar, the major attraction along the Göta Canal, and continue onto lake Roxen. Cross the lake, and head onto the Kinda Canal. Notice that you should verify if pre-booking is required as well as if the measures of your boat are ok (the canal is quite shallow).

Travel by air
With KLM and connecting flights in Amsterdam, the whole world is within easy reach from Linköping!
Linköping City Airport is located a 5-minute ride from downtown Linköping by taxi or car. It´s also possible to take the bus from the airport to the city center of Linköping, see Östgötatrafikens website for information.
Stockholm Skavsta Airport is located in Nyköping only 100 km north of Linköping. It´s easy to travel between Nyköping and Linköping by intercity bus or by train (see information above).
