Here you can see and read about several typical life stories from the 1650-1920s in Ljung, Vreta kloster, and Stjärnorp and surrounding areas. Ljungs Museum exists for those who want to know more about Ljungsbro, Cloetta, Göta Canal, industrialism, estates, emigration, Walloons, executioner, and other exciting topics. We also have historical books, a shop, and an outdoor café.
Ljungsbro Museum was founded with a simple purpose: to preserve and share Östergötland’s rich cultural heritage. The origin of the museum dates back to the early 20th century when enthusiastic locals began collecting and preserving objects that told the area’s history. These items included everything from old tools and instruments to photographs and documents. The focus is on Ljung and Ljungsbro but also Vreta kloster, Stjärnorp, Kristberg, Godegård, Tjällmo, Hällestad, and Regna and Vånga receive some attention.
Open Mon-Fri 10-18, Sat 10-15, and Sundays 10-15 in June, July, August, and December.
Welcome to visit our museum. We are located in central Ljungsbro at Norra Cloettavägen 9 and share the premises with Blomstedt Bytt och Nytt.
