Sledding Hills

Are you in the mood for sledding, a saucer sled, or a snow racer? Then perhaps Vallabackarna, Skarpan (Berga), Vidingsjö exercise center, or the Activity Park in Ryd might be something for you.

• Vallabackarna is located at the edge of Vallaskogen. You park at the Vallamuseerna, and from there you reach the hills after a few minutes’ walk.
• Skarpan is located along the Haningeleden, opposite the entrance to Tinnerö. If you travel from the Garnisionsrondellen towards Vidingsjö, you will see the hill on the left side at the entrance after Coop Extra. Vidingsjö exercise center is about 1 km further ahead (from Skarpan).
• A sledding hill has been built at the Activity Park in Ryd. Steep on one side, less steep on the other – suitable for both big and small.
• Local sledding hills can also be found in the outskirts of Linköping, including Himnafjället in Linghem.

Ice Skating

In Linköping, there are four ice rinks, a bandy field, and an ice oval. The Stångebroo area has three ice rinks, where Saab Arena is the municipality’s “flagship” with 8,500 seats. North of the city, there is also an ice rink at Ljungsbro leisure center.
