Visit Linköping & Co works to ensure that Linköping is perceived as an attractive destination with experiences that everyone can participate in. By promoting accessibility and working towards increased safety and security, we strive to create an inclusive tourism industry.

Attractive and accessible offerings

We strive to create an attractive and accessible range of experiences, which in today’s society where inclusion is a challenge, can become a tool for value creation in both the company and in Linköping. We want visitors to perceive our events and venues as accessible and continue improvement work concerning the accessibility of the venues we manage. The work on accessibility also impacts organizers to act in a sustainable direction.

We aim for Linköping to be perceived as an event city with a good range and to inspire the hospitality industry to deliver world-class hospitality and annually exceed the industry average in the Swedish Destinations Network’s survey Travel in Sweden on these issues. We also have goals regarding contributing to an increase in people’s sense of involvement in culture through our events.

Job-creating tourism industry

The tourism industry is an effective job and integration engine, and therefore it is important to have structured and active work to contribute to employment within the tourism industry. At Visit Linköping & Co, we work on this by being an employer for permanent employees and a large number of temporary employees, with many young people gaining their first work experience with us. The creation of events also indirectly contributes to employment within the rest of the tourism industry by, among other things, more visitors to Linköping, which creates growth and more jobs.

To strengthen a job-creating tourism industry, we aim to annually contribute to increasing the number of guest nights in Linköping and thereby create more job opportunities. We also prioritize raising awareness of sustainability issues within the industry to enable sustainable growth. Another important goal is to offer part-time jobs and internships that provide more people insight into work within the tourism industry.

Safety and security

A priority is for Linköping to be perceived as a safe and secure place to visit, especially in a time of increased insecurity. Therefore, we work to ensure that Visit Linköping & Co’s events and meetings feel safe for visitors, artists, and employees. We have created networks with authorities and organizations to ensure the planning, implementation, and follow-up of activities. An established crisis group is available if needed, and various safety trainings have been conducted to strengthen the staff’s knowledge of security issues.

We also have goals for employees to feel safe in the workplace, which is measured through temperature measurements and surveys among both permanent and temporary employees. It is important that both employees and partners have good knowledge of safety and security issues related to events. Preventive work focuses on reducing incidents, and a well-functioning incident management routine strengthens the company’s ability to handle crises.
