Bach Jazz turns J. S. Bach’s pieces into cohesive songs for piano, double bass, and drums. Their self-titled debut album has become a broad favorite among critics, and their concerts have been praised for the mix of timeless compositions, suggestive swing, and warm humanity. On Wednesday, May 20, the trio will come to Östergötlands museum with a brand new album.

Bach Jazz has participated in programs such as SVT’s “Go’kväll”, “Sverige!” and “Kulturfrågan Kontrapunkt”, and their countless concerts at cultural centers, jazz clubs, churches, and concert halls across the country have been met with enthusiastic applause. Many have drawn associations to the icon Jan Johanson.

In the spring of 2026, Bach Jazz will release their second album “II”, where the music is further deepened. The expression remains open and warm, thoughtful and exploratory, but embraces even more aspects of Johann Sebastian Bach’s boundless universe. The repertoire ranges from beloved masterpieces to curious experiments. From the Goldberg Variations to a gentle lullaby and perhaps the very first historical evidence of “agent jazz”.

Welcome to a melodic, heartfelt, and swinging concert. A moment of encounters, concentrated presence, and spontaneous impulses.

Back Jazz consists of:
Emil Carlsson Rinstad – piano and vocals
Magnus Bergström – double bass
Ola Winkler – drums
