Stage work
The stage work is a unique opportunity to support playwrights and encounter their freshest works.
With this new, annual summer festival, Babettes brings together some of Sweden’s most interesting playwrights and performing artists to develop their scripts during short residencies. With the help of professional actors, the texts will also be presented to the audience in stripped-down stage readings.
The festival takes place in Linköping from 7–22 August at Babettes Kulturpalats.
The playwrights represent city theatres and various performing arts contexts from near and far. The works they are developing during the festival will be seen on stages around the country in the coming years but have never yet been performed or published.
The stage work is produced in collaboration with HORSE Performance Co.
