Quinnorna is a play that, with direct audience engagement, warmth, and humor, depicts the story of four of Sweden’s most interesting and influential women; Selma Lagerlöf, Elin Wägner, Victoria Benedictsson, and Ellen Key.
Hear the story of how their contact through letters and meetings resulted in a systematic effort. This to create change through art and education but primarily through their call to action.
With their struggle, they created space for women to vote, influence, and participate in the debate. For some of them, the formulations started in writing, for others in speech and lectures. They appear in each other’s books and meet through their political engagements, keeping the conversation alive through correspondence and meetings. These women changed the conditions for women for the future and laid the foundation for the possibility of an equal society.
