Babettes Speakeasy Jazz Club proudly presents: Wayne Tucker & The Bad Mothas!

Exactly a year ago, we were visited by the incredible jazz musician Wayne Tucker from New York. Babettes was like a boiling pot in the hot summer heat, and those of us who were there were captivated by the energy and joy of playing! It was an epic evening, to say the least! And now he’s coming back!

This time, in addition to his own compositions, he’s also offering songs from his greatest musical inspiration: Miles Davis – the legendary jazz artist who is celebrating a 100-year anniversary this year.

WAYNE TUCKER is a Grammy-nominated trumpeter, composer, arranger, singer, violinist, educator, author, actor, and model based in New York City. He has released five albums under his own name and regularly performs with his band The Bad Mothas in New York. He is currently a member of the jazz faculty at his alma mater, SUNY Purchase.

Wayne has toured and recorded with a diverse collection of prominent artists, including jazz musicians Kurt Elling, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Cyrille Aimée; pop artists such as Taylor Swift, Raye, David Crosby, and Elvis Costello; R&B singers like Ne-Yo and Gabriel Garzón-Montano; hip-hop artists such as Jay-Z, The Roots, Jidenna, Saba, and Ryan Leslie; and with the rock band Brass Against. This diversity is reflected in The Bad Mothas’ energetic sound, where the American Songbook gets a welcome update.

Wayne Tucker continues to be a devoted part of New York’s club scene, while also performing on major stages like Madison Square Garden, The Hollywood Bowl, and on shows like The Tonight Show. Additionally, he appeared in some of the spring’s final episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

After Wayne Tucker & The Bad Mothas play two sets, the evening continues with a Jazz Jam where anyone who wants can join and jam! So count on a full evening!

Entrance: Regular 250kr, student 200kr.

(Note pre-sale! We only sell at the door if we happen to have any tickets left.)
