In the summer, Stora Torget in Linköping is bursting with life with its lovely outdoor seating offering everything from bar menus to Asian food, bustling street life, and a wonderful atmosphere on warm summer evenings. During the summer, several cozy courtyards also open up. Try Innergården on Apotekargatan for a nice bar hangout or Simons Rosteri och Bageris courtyard for a really good fika in a wonderful environment!

If you want to shop in Linköping, there are plenty of stores to dive into! Walk the stretch up Nygatan – after a few meters, you are at Lilla Torget with the large Gränden shopping center where you can walk around on two floors. Then stroll further up Nygatan over Trädgårdstorget onto Tanneforsgatan, continue to Stora Torget where you can find small, unique shops. The stores are simply strung like a pearl necklace from west to east.

Café Cozy – Indulge with a Sweet Treat

Café Cozy is easy to find in Linköping. Top-rated cafes in the city on Tripadvisor can be found on Platensgatan and Stora Badstugatan. Platensgatan – Ammos Café och Creperie is a small creperie with fantastic coffee and savory crepes. On the same street, you’ll also find Boss’s Ice Cream Bar. Ask any of us Linköping locals where Boss’s Ice Cream Bar is and we can answer. Boss’s is a little hole in the wall that manages to churn out loads of homemade ice cream in all the wonderful flavors you can imagine during the summer months. A must here in Linköping.

On Stora Badstugatan you will find Babettes Kafferi, which is not only a fantastically cozy café, but which has also been awarded the Nyponet cultural prize by none other than Lars Winnerbäck. Lasse describes it in his motivation as a café where music, art, and culture meet in the heart of Linköping. Babettes also frequently hosts Literary Salons with exciting speakers. Doesn’t it sound wonderful to enjoy this with a good cup of coffee? Another place you simply must taste is Simons Rosteri & Bageri which has been recognized by the White Guide. We truly have a lot of sweet treats here in the city!

The area around Stora Torget, Ågatan, and further into Platensgatan is where Linköping has gathered a mix of bars, clubs, restaurants, and a cinema, all lined up like yet another strand of pearls. In Linköping, you feel the evening’s pulse no matter what day it is. Linköping city is truly a gathering place for community and socializing!

There are plenty of outdoor cafes during the summer, as several restaurants and pubs move their operations outside. At Stora Torget, which is also Linköping’s largest outdoor setting, happy Linköping residents flock to enjoy the summer warmth in good company. If you’re in the mood to go out and dance, head to the club district on Ågatan. Here you will find most of the clubs such as O´Learys, Brasserie Grand and Shotluckan.
