The staircase impresses with its seven interconnected locks, which together form the canal’s longest lock staircase. It is a breathtaking experience to see the boats being lifted or lowered the 18.8 meters between Roxen and Berg’s guest harbor.

The Open-Air Museum Gamla Linköping – Linköping 100 years ago
A short walk from Campus Valla, you can visit the Open-Air Museum Gamla Linköping and travel back in time 100 years. The city districts breathe the turn of the 20th century, with everything from a variety of historical environments, exhibitions, and shops in charming wooden houses to summer events and concerts in the historic setting of the Folkpark Theater. Together with the Vallaskogen nature reserve and the rural environment at Valla Gård, which are easily reached on foot or by the chug-along train in the summer, the museum offers something for everyone, young and old.
Gamla Linköping is one of Östergötland’s biggest attractions and one of Sweden’s most visited museums, and there is a reason why! Gamla Linköping is open (and just as charming) year-round, also without an entrance fee.
If some of the environments here seem familiar to you, you might actually have been here before! Have you ever seen the movie “Rasmus på luffen” during your childhood? The cityscapes visible in the movie are actually from Gamla Linköping! Cool, right?
