- Organizer: Wind up Production
Dare returns to Sweden – new tour autumn 2026. By popular demand, Dare returns to Sweden for another tour in 2026. After a sold-out west coast tour in February, it’s now time for the band to meet the audience on the east coast.
Dare was formed in 1985 by Darren Wharton, former keyboardist in Thin Lizzy. The band name was suggested by Lemmy from Motörhead – a name that Darren adopted immediately. The debut album “Out of Silence” was released in 1988, and already the following year, Dare toured in Sweden as the opening act for Europe during their “Out of This World” tour.
That tour laid the foundation for a long-lasting bond between Dare and the Swedish audience – a relationship that now spans nearly three decades. During this year’s tour, the band returns among others to Gävle and Stockholm, cities where they previously shared the stage with Europe, but have also played themselves in the years thereafter.
Darren Wharton has also repeatedly performed in Sweden with Thin Lizzy. In an interview with Helsingborgs Dagblad, he said: Thin Lizzy was a fantastic period in my life. I auditioned when I was 17–18 years old and was only 18 when I joined the band. My first gig with Thin Lizzy was in Oslo and my first gig in Sweden was in Lund.
Besides their own tours, Dare has played at several of Sweden’s largest festivals. Most recently, in 2024, they headlined Malmö Melodic – a new festival dedicated to melodic rock.
Dare’s music is characterized by melodic rock with Celtic influences, where strong melodies are combined with honest and personal lyrics about events in all phases of life.

Blood from Stone (1991)
