Nicole Sabouné releases her new album “ANA” – and starting in January next year, a tour with nine stops on Swedish soil awaits.

For over a decade, Nicole Sabouné has been one of the country’s foremost custodians of the post-punk legacy. But her artistry has never been about nostalgia. Ever since her debut with “Must Exist” (2014), she has, with her majestic voice and an almost indomitable artistic will, created music that both honors its predecessors and refuses to stand still. From the acclaimed “Miman” (2015) to “Kismet” (2023), her universe has continued to grow, and with the upcoming album, interest has reached far beyond Sweden’s borders. The singles have been noted by, among others, The Needle Drop and The Line of Best Fit, while Fredrik Strage and Jan Gradvall are among those who have praised her on home ground.

On the new album “ANA,” Nicole Sabouné turns her gaze towards her own origins. After a childhood marked by questions about identity and belonging, she traveled for the first time to Lebanon, a journey that came to change her view of herself. The album title means “I” in Arabic and in the songs, rootlessness and inherited silence are met by a growing sense of belonging. Musically, the album moves between the grand and the intimate, where a pulsating drive meets organic elements and Nicole’s expressive voice, while influences from the Middle East are woven together with post-punk and alternative pop. The result is a deeply personal album about identity, heritage, and belonging – and about daring to approach one’s origins to finally find home within oneself.

In early 2027, Nicole Sabouné will take the new music on tour.
