Since the breakthrough in 1999, Patrik Isaksson has been an undeniable star in the Swedish pop sky, with immortal hits such as “Hos dig är jag underbar”, “Du får göra som du vill” and “Ruta 1” – songs that have not only defined a generation but now also found new life with a younger audience.

Over the years, he has also created strong musical encounters with some of Sweden’s most beloved artists, including Marie Fredriksson, Joey Tempest, Merit Hemmingson, Anders Glenmark, Ellen Bergström, and Helen Sjöholm.

Despite it being several years since his last album release, Isaksson has been anything but inactive. With an intense concert activity and a range of appreciated collaborations, he has continued to cement his position as one of the country’s most engaging live artists. But beneath the surface, another journey has been underway – an inner struggle and a longing to find the right direction in his creation.

Now the wait is over. “Mellan hopp och förtvivlan” – Patrik Isaksson’s first studio album in 12 years – is a strong and emotionally charged comeback. Here he opens up in a way we have never heard before, in a work that balances between powerful peaks and fragile moments. It is a musical rollercoaster that goes straight to the heart.

The album, partly recorded in the legendary Atlantis studio in Stockholm, offers everything from grand choruses to stripped-down, intimate pop gems – and shows an artist who has both developed and deepened, without ever losing his unique voice.
