Kayak rentals are available both in central Linköping and in the countryside and below you will find a couple of different suggested routes.The kayak season runs from early May to the end of September.

The Kinda Canal runs through the heart of Linköping, flowing from Lake Roxen in the north, stretching 80 km southward all the way to Horn, offering delightful stretches to paddle through.

From Scandic City, you can opt to paddle in two different directions—either south towards Tannefors Locks or north towards Nykvarns Locks. If you decide to explore both directions, expect to be on the water for approximately 2 hours, but take your time and relish the scenery! This excursion is well-suited for beginners. If you have a full day to spend on the water, heading out to Grebo is a must! Kayaking here offers an incredible nature experience, with no houses in sight, just pure natural beauty. From Grebo, you can paddle all the way to Linköping city, making stops along the way at Slattefors Lock, in Hjulsbro, or at Johannelundsbadet. The total distance between Grebo and Linköping is approximately 20 kilometers, and you can expect to spend a total of 6-8 hours on the water. Please note that you’ll need to portage the kayaks at the locks along the way. Also, ensure you bring enough food and fresh water if you decide to embark on this fantastic excursion!
