MAKSIM The world’s best-selling crossover pianist
SEGMENTI WORLD TOUR
World-renowned crossover pianist MAKSIM, one of the best-selling in the genre, is coming to Sweden for only 5 concerts as part of the acclaimed SEGMENTI World Tour. The tour includes over 100 performances on 4 continents, with an expected audience of over 500,000 people.
The virtuoso pianist MAKSIM, winner of MTV Music Awards and first prize in prestigious international music competitions, will perform pieces from his 12th studio album, SEGMENTI, along with special pieces that have defined his career. Iconic works by legendary classical composers such as Chopin, Prokofiev, and Tchaikovsky are presented alongside reinterpretations of world-famous songs by Queen, ABBA, and others, enriched with modern and rock-influenced arrangements and performed in MAKSIM’s unique piano style.
The concert will also include live performances of internationally acclaimed pieces from his previous albums, such as “Exodus,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and “Game of Thrones,” all of which have been very popular with audiences.
Together with his band on stage, MAKSIM elevates the SEGMENTI World Tour far beyond a traditional piano concert by combining powerful stage production and visually striking effects into a comprehensive experience. This special evening promises an energetic, cinematic tribute to piano music and transforms the concert into an unforgettable live experience.
With over 5 million albums sold worldwide and recipient of multiple gold and platinum records, MAKSIM is regarded as one of the most successful names in crossover piano music, where classical repertoire is united with modern power and energy. His concerts offer the audience a unique experience through high intensity, cinematic stage design, and impressive visual productions.
One of the most prominent tracks from the latest studio album SEGMENTI is “Prokofiev’s Fantasy,” which will be performed during the concert. The piece is designed as a cohesive composition that unites three of Sergei Prokofiev’s most iconic works: the brilliant Toccata – long a part of MAKSIM’s repertoire; lyrical themes from Romeo and Juliet, arranged by John Lenahan; as well as the magnificent coda from Piano Concerto No. 3, one of the most technically demanding passages ever written for the instrument. “This piece is among the most complex and technically difficult I have ever recorded,” says MAKSIM. “I have loved the third piano concerto since childhood and have always dreamed of performing it. For the album, I decided to leave the coda exactly as it is written – I didn’t change a single note. It is almost impossible to play, but at the same time incredibly captivating and filled with joy. I look forward to performing it live and hearing the audience’s reaction!”
